The maximum sentence for both these offences is six months imprisonment and a £5,000 fine. Magistrates may disqualify for any period. They may also insist a driving test has been passed.
The Magistrates may choose not to disqualify but then they have to endorse your licence with five to ten penalty points unless there are very special reasons.
