Drivers and their employers both have a responsibility to comply with current tachograph rules. Any breach of these rules could cause the driver or even the company employing the driver to face prosecution in a court of law.
Being found guilty of breaching these regulations may result in a fine. Deliberately altering a tachograph or forging a tachograph can result in a maximum of two years imprisonment with an unlimited fine.
At IMS Motoring Law, we can advise you of defences if you face such allegations.
We strongly recommend that you seek our legal consultation as the law is complicated in this area.
